Investor Pitch.
A compelling pitch is not a simplified version of your science. It is a rigorous, structured argument built for a specific audience, a specific decision moment, and a specific funding objective. Getting it wrong does not just cost you the meeting — it costs you credibility you cannot easily recover.
The room does not owe you attention. Your pitch has to earn it.
An i-Lab evaluator reviews dozens of dossiers in a single committee session. A venture capital partner takes a first meeting knowing they will invest in fewer than one in a hundred companies they see. An EU project officer assessing an EIC Accelerator application reads the executive summary before deciding whether the science deserves a closer look. In each of these situations, the quality of the pitch — its clarity, its narrative logic, its ability to translate scientific complexity into an investable or fundable argument — is not secondary to the science. It is the condition under which the science gets heard at all.
Assessment of your existing pitch materials — deck, one-pager, executive summary, video — against the specific expectations of your target audience. Identification of the narrative gaps, the structural weaknesses, and the scientific passages that lose a non-specialist audience before the key argument lands.
Construction of the pitch logic from the ground up: problem statement, solution, technology differentiation, market or impact opportunity, team, traction, ask. Each section is calibrated to the specific funding context — BPI i-Lab, seed round, Series A, EIC Accelerator, SATT licence-out, or EU consortium review.
Production of a fully designed pitch deck aligned with your visual identity (M1) and structured to meet the expectations of health business angels, regional funds, and sector-focused VCs.
For fundraising rounds: production of the written narrative that frames your TRL mapping, financial pipeline, KPIs, and exit scenarios — turning raw data into a coherent investment argument. Developed in direct coordination with KOM's partner network of biotech-specialist chartered accountants and corporate IP lawyers.
For Horizon Europe consortia and EIC applications: preparation of the consortium pitch for the REA review panel, the partner presentation for new consortium members, and the public engagement pitch required for dissemination events. Format adapted to the specific requirements of each EU funding instrument.
Individual and team coaching sessions structured around repeated practice, timed delivery, and audience-specific feedback. Includes the Pitch your PhD in 180 seconds format for doctoral networks — training doctoral candidates to communicate their research to non-specialist audiences with the same rigour and confidence expected of a company founder.
One module. Three divisions.
Investor Pitch Coaching is the only KOM module that is genuinely cross-divisional — not because it borrows from the other modules, but because the pitch is the moment where everything the other modules have built is tested in front of the audience that matters most. The module is activated differently depending on which division it supports, but the underlying discipline is the same: building a clear, rigorous, compelling argument for a specific decision-maker, and delivering it with precision.
DeepTech SAS
You are preparing your i-Lab application, your seed round, or your Series A. Your technology is credible. Your team is strong. But the narrative that connects your science to an investment thesis — the story that makes a VC partner lean forward rather than take notes — is the one element that no technical dossier can produce on its own. KOM builds that narrative with you, from the first workshop to the final rehearsal, with direct input from its network of biotech-specialist accountants, IP lawyers, and sector-focused investors.
Horizon Europe project coordinators
You are pitching to a new consortium partner, presenting at a REA project review, or preparing an EIC Accelerator application. The audience is technically sophisticated but evaluates communication quality as a proxy for project management quality. KOM prepares the pitch materials and coaches the presenting team — so that the scientific rigour of your consortium is matched by the clarity of its public argument.
Research teams and academic laboratories
You are a researcher at the point of transition: the science is ready, the SATT relationship is established, and the first conversations with investors or incubators are on the horizon. You need to learn to pitch — not to simplify your work, but to frame it in the language of value creation without losing the scientific credibility that makes it fundable in the first place. KOM's coaching programme is built for this moment, and bridges directly into the Strategy Division when you are ready to move from pitch to company creation.
The pitch is where science meets capital. You have one shot at getting it right.
This module is included as standard in the Global Launch Pack and the Deeptech Partnership model. It can also be activated as a standalone module on an à la carte basis. Free initial strategic meeting — chartered accountant & corporate lawyer included for all KOM clients.
